The Shimano Torium 20PG Taipan Overhead Jigging Combo combines the Shimano Torium 20PG star-drag overhead reel with a 5ft 5in Taipan Overhead Jigging Rod rated for 50-80lb line and 200-400g jigs, plus 300m of 50lb Shimano Kairiki SX8 Multi-Colour Braid. The Torium 20PG offers a 4.6:1 gear ratio and 15kg maximum drag, while the Taipan rod features an integrated graphite blank and Fuji O-Ring guides for responsive jig control.

The 1-piece rod has a custom EVA grip, while the 50lb braid completes the setup for heavy offshore jigging.

The Reel
The Shimano Torium 20PG Overhead Reel features a HAGANE Body, S-ARB bearings and Super Free Spool for smooth operation and reduced spool shaft friction. The Cross Carbon Drag provides a wide range of drag settings and smooth drag performance, while the S-Compact Body creates a compact profile for improved grip and leverage during a fight.

The Rod
The Shimano Taipan Overhead Jigging Rod features an integrated graphite blank for a responsive feel, with Fuji O-Ring guides for reliable line management. The custom EVA grip provides a comfortable hold during jigging.

The rod is rated for 50-80lb line and 200-400g jigs, making it suited to heavy offshore jigging.

The Line
The Shimano Kairiki SX8 Multi-Colour Braid uses an eight-strand construction with a smooth finish designed to reduce friction through the rod guides. Its tight weave supports sensitivity and low stretch, while the multi-colour pattern helps track line length during deeper jigging applications.
